Tens of thousands gathered here on Monday to hear Ahmadinejad speak, but large crowds prevented him from reaching the stage, cancelling his speech.</p>

They dress in green as this is chosen as the signature colour for Mousavi.</p>

Newsha Tavakolian

was born in Tehran, Iran in 1981 and is a self-taught photographer whose recent body of work bridges the worlds of documentary and art. She has published her work in international titles such as Le Monde and National Geographic, among others. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Tehran, in Palma de Mallorca in Spain and will be included in the upcoming exhibition Hajj: Journey to the Heart of Islam at the British Museum in 2012.
