Ibraaz September Newsletter

Ibraaz is pleased to release the full details of Future Imperfect, a symposium organised in collaboration with Tate Modern on the 9th of November 2013.


Confirmed speakers include: Raqs Media Collective, Douglas Coupland, Tony Chakar, Anthony Downey, Todd Reisz, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Tarek El Ariss, Khalid Abdalla, Zineb Sedira, Abdelkader Damani, Omar Berrada, Bassam El Baroni, Amir Mousawi and Marcos De Andres. This month, Ibraaz is also pleased to publish reviews and reports from Tunisia, Ramallah, Istanbul, London and New York, as well as two conversations from the latest series of Ibraaz Talks, staged at 13th Istanbul Biennial venue, SALT Beyoğlu, featuring Burak Arikan, Basak Senova, and Basim Magdy.

In October, Ibraaz will release the rest of the Ibraaz Talks series conducted during the 13th Istanbul Biennial, which include conversations with Trevor Paglen, Köken ErgunKaren Mirza, Brad Butler and Lawrence Abu Hamdan.

 

We will also publish the second installment of a series of stories produced by Shuruq Harb under the general title The One That Got Away as well as reviews of the 4th Thessaloniki Biennale, an exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York titled An I for An Eye, and a report on Future City, a day-long forum with leading thinkers and artist expeditions in the city of Liverpool.

 

Ibraaz will also be preparing for the launch of Platform 006 on 6th November 2013, with contributions by, amongst many others, Rana Hamadeh, Walter D. Mignolo, Shaheen Merali, Tsolin Nalbantian, Mariam Motamedi-Fraser, Daniel Berndt, Rona Sela, Setareh Shahbazi, Katia Kameli, Maryam Jafri, Maha Maamoun, Mona Marzouk, Jumana Manna and Adelina von Fürstenberg.
