Ibraaz June Reader 010/01

010_01 / 1 June 2016

In June Ibraaz celebrates its fifth year of production, having launched in 2011 at the 54th Venice Biennale. To commemorate our anniversary, we begin with a dedicated reader presenting a series of Platform 010 responses by Talinn Grigor, Alex Dika Seggerman, Octavian Esanu, Iftikhar Dadi, Burcu Pelvano─člu, and Sabrina DeTurk, alongside a selection of essays, projects, and channel videos produced exclusively for Ibraaz by artists participating in the one-month Ras Masqa Artist Residency (RMAR). Organized by Temporary. Art. Platform as part of The Museum in the Making project, the residency was overseen by Amanda Abi Khalil and Roy Dib, and took place between 18 March and 18 April 2016 at the village of Ras Masqa.

Throughout June, Ibraaz will be publishing new content specially commissioned for Platform 010, including essays by Pamela Karimi, Patricia Triki and Christine Bruckbauer, and conversations with Angela Harutyunyan, Louis Henderson, Nataša Petresin-Bachelez, and Nora Razian. We will also present a series of channel videos from the Warehouse Project Talks which were staged by Vikrem Divecha at Warehouse 82 in Dubai's Alserkal Avenue in March and April 2016. In the coming months, we will also present essays, interviews and projects by contributors including Basma Alsharif, Heba Amin, Lara Baladi, Hamid Dabashi, and Hajra Waheed, among others.
